PERCH evaluated an existing gable roof structure for excess load carrying capacity to accommodate a 100 kW solar array at the newly expanded brewery of Lawson’s Finest Liquids in Waitsfield, VT. Working on behalf of local solar furnisher Aegis Renewable Energy, PERCH analyzed roof trusses, splices, and gusset plate connections for adequacy. PERCH designed and drafted details to strengthen the components including augmented bottom chords for the modified queen truss, and worked with Aegis to find a contractor and complete the work.
