PERCH delivered a risk assessment for the adequacy of a 40-passenger helium balloon ride for sale to a Chinese client. The risk assessment analyzed each component of the amusement ride for potential failure modes, and calculated the probability and severity of failure, the chance of damage detection, and susceptibility to fatigue. PERCH also drafted a site installation plan and detail drawings for balloon assembly using AutoCAD. The PERCH team traveled to Beijing to verify the ride design before a panel of inspectors, and successfully gained approval to fly in China.
